Why Kyocera Printers Get Paper Jams
Paper jams in Kyocera printers are usually caused by worn feed rollers, incorrect paper size settings, or using poor quality paper. The good news is most jams can be fixed in under 5 minutes.
Step 1 — Turn Off the Printer
Always turn off your Kyocera printer before attempting to clear a paper jam. This protects both you and the printer components.
Step 2 — Open All Access Panels
Open the front cover, rear cover and any side panels. Kyocera printers typically have multiple access points for paper removal.
Step 3 — Remove the Jammed Paper
Pull the jammed paper gently and slowly in the direction of paper travel. Never pull paper backwards as this can damage the fuser unit. If paper tears, remove all pieces carefully.
Step 4 — Check the Feed Rollers
Worn feed rollers are the most common cause of repeated paper jams. If your Kyocera keeps jamming, the feed rollers likely need replacement. We stock genuine Kyocera feed rollers for all ECOSYS models.
Step 5 — Reset and Test
Close all covers, turn on the printer and print a test page. If the jam error persists, check the display panel for a specific error code.
Common Kyocera Paper Jam Error Codes
- 13.xx — Paper jam in paper feed area
- 13.2x — Paper jam in fuser area
- 13.5x — Paper jam in output area
